NYI Residence

Tucked within the emerging enclave of Bali’s western coastline near Nyanyi Beach, NYI Villa is a three-bedroom villa nestled on a gently sloping 5-are site that borders the lush green canopy alongside the river nearby to the south. The villa is envisioned as a contemporary tropical retreat — where architecture, landscape, and light come together in quiet dialogue.

As a response to its tropical context, the ground floor is conceived as a private sanctuary that blurs the boundaries between the indoors and outdoors. This level, which has no distant views, instead celebrates intimacy and connection through a series of pocket gardens, shaded living areas, and a cascading pool — creating an immersive, tranquil environment.

Above, the design shifts its focus outward. Each bedroom is carefully oriented to frame either the surrounding greenery or the distant sunsets. The master suite, positioned toward the south, enjoys panoramic views of the treetops — a scene that can be appreciated equally from the bed or the bathtub after a long day. A rooftop deck extends this experience further, complete with a tub for soaking in the Balinese sunset.

The project unfolds in two phases. The first phase occupies 3 of the 5 ares, accommodating the main three-bedroom villa. The second phase — a smaller two-bedroom villa — will eventually be built on the northern, slightly elevated portion of the site. This sequencing ensures that both villas will retain views toward the river and the sunset. Until then, the unbuilt land serves as a generous open lawn extending from the dining area — an expansive, breathing landscape that enhances the sense of openness and possibility.
